Miranda Knotts

Head of Front Office

Miranda was born and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, where she remains. She graduated from Timberland High School in 2007.

At the age of 15, she started her first job at Berkeley Prosthetic Laboratory, which is a family-owned dental laboratory. This started the path for her career choice in dentistry.

At 22, she began her career at Solomon Family Dentistry in 2011. She started her employment as a front desk administrator. She has now become the office manager for all our locations. She truly cares about our patients and goes above and beyond to help them. In Miranda’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her son and attending her church, Hickory Grove IPHC.

Tama Martello, RDH

Head of Hygiene & Compliance

Tama Martello, our Director of Hygiene, has been immersed in the dental world for over 35 years. Her father was a dentist, and she worked alongside him, managing the front desk, serving as a certified dental assistant, and then attending hygiene school. She has been a licensed dental hygienist for 27 years now. Tama has also held the Regional Operations Manager role and consulted on best practices across the country. She possesses a deep passion for the dental industry and excels in connecting with patients, doctors, and team members. Working at Solomon Family Dentistry has brought her career full circle, reminding her of the values her father’s practice instilled in her: prioritizing patient care and truly understanding patients’ needs and desires, ensuring they look forward to returning to the dentist. In her leisure time, Tama enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her fiancé and her rescue dog, Bones.

She has developed a training and development program for our dental assistants to support them in acquiring clinical knowledge and advancing their professional growth.

Katie is a graduate of Purdue University with a Master’s in Education – Learning Design and Technology. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2010 and a diploma from an ADA-accredited program in dental assisting at Western Wisconsin Technical College in 2005. Katie became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2006 and is Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).

Since 2006, Katie has worked as a chairside assistant, office manager, and trainer in the clinical setting. In 2018, she decided to pursue her passion for sharing her knowledge in dental assisting by joining the team at Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC, as adjunct faculty. She has taught dental assisting courses in clinical skills, ethics and professionalism, dental morphology, oral biology, dental materials, dental radiography, dental specialties, and nitrous oxide-oxygen conscious sedation. Katie shares her passion for dental assisting with the community by volunteering with the Dream Center Clinic through Seacoast Church in North Charleston.
